This antique Edwards & Roberts burr walnut side table is a rare and beautifully made Victorian piece, dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850s. Made from burr walnut, it has a superb rich colour, striking figured grain, two frieze drawers, a low raised gallery and elegant turned tapered legs.

The Edwards & Roberts stamp to the drawer makes this a particularly appealing piece. The firm was one of London’s respected 19th century cabinet makers and antique furniture specialists, known for high-quality craftsmanship, fine timbers and well-made furniture. That maker’s connection gives the table extra interest for collectors, while still being a very usable piece for the home.

Its shape and proportions make it a lovely choice for a hallway, sitting room, bedroom, landing or traditional country interior. It has enough width to feel substantial, without being too deep or difficult to place, making it ideal as an antique side table, hall table, lamp table or occasional table.

The two smooth sliding drawers offer useful everyday storage for keys, letters, papers, chargers or smaller household items. The raised gallery gives the table a more finished look, while the burr walnut grain brings warmth, depth and decorative character.
