This lovely Antique Georgian Mahogany Bachelors Chest of Drawers has all the charm you’d expect from an 18th century piece. Compact in size but full of character, it’s the ideal small chest of drawers for bedroom, hallway or sitting room where you want real period warmth without taking over the space.

Dating to around the 1760s, the chest is crafted in rich, solid mahogany with a later fixed top (originally this would have been a fold-over writing surface, typical of a bachelor’s chest). Below sit four long drawers with front-to-back oak linings, offering plenty of practical storage for clothes, linens or paperwork. The drawers run smoothly and feel reassuringly solid, a reminder of the build quality you only get with genuine antique furniture chest of drawers pieces.

The front retains its original brass escutcheons and most of the original handles, with a couple of sympathetic later replacements that blend in nicely. The whole chest stands on classic ogee bracket feet, giving it that unmistakable Georgian stance that works beautifully in a Georgian cottage interior or more modern vintage-inspired scheme.

Professionally restored, the finish has a gentle sheen that shows off the colour and grain of the mahogany while keeping the honest signs of age you want to see in an antique chest of drawers.
