A charming antique Victorian bamboo two tier side table, dating to circa 1890s. With its rectangular top, lower tier and splayed bamboo supports, this is a decorative late Victorian piece with a light, elegant look and plenty of practical use.

Bamboo furniture became especially popular during the late 19th century, often chosen for its relaxed, decorative feel and its ability to sit beautifully within country house, cottage and informal interiors. This table has that same easy charm, making it a lovely choice for adding texture, warmth and period character without feeling heavy in the room.

The two tier design makes it far more useful than a simple occasional table. The top works well for a lamp, plant, books, keys or decorative objects, while the lower shelf gives extra space for display or light storage. Its compact proportions make it ideal as an antique side table beside a chair, a small hall table, a bedside piece, or an occasional table in a sitting room, landing or conservatory.
