This antique Victorian light pine chest of drawers, dating to circa 1860s, is a wonderfully useful country piece with a warm farmhouse look and plenty of everyday storage. Its low, wide shape gives it a lovely grounded presence, while the light pine colour keeps it soft, relaxed and easy to place in a modern country home.

It would work beautifully in a bedroom, hallway, landing, boot room, sitting room or cottage interior. The proportions make it especially practical if you want generous storage without the height of a taller chest.
