A beautifully detailed antique Victorian walnut parquetry coffee table, dating to around the 1850s. This 19th-century low occasional table has a rectangular top with canted corners and striking geometric parquetry detail, giving it far more presence than a plain antique table of this size.

The top features a decorative mix of walnut, mahogany and rosewood, creating a warm, richly patterned surface with lovely depth and character. It is raised on turned bobbin supports, united by a central stretcher, with pine feet beneath. The combination of figured woods, cube-style marquetry detail and shaped Victorian supports gives the piece a strong decorative appeal without feeling too heavy.

Its low proportions make it ideal as an antique coffee table, occasional table or centrepiece for a sitting room, snug or country living room. It would sit particularly well in farmhouse interiors, cottage interiors or a layered traditional home where antique furniture, warm wood tones and period detail help soften the space.

The parquetry top is the main feature here. It brings texture, movement and visual interest, while the canted corners make the table feel slightly more refined and easier to place. The bobbin-turned supports add attractive Victorian character, and the central stretcher gives the base a balanced, sturdy appearance.

Restored and ready to use, with minor signs of age and wear in keeping with its age. As with all genuine antique furniture, small marks and historic imperfections should be expected, but these form part of the table’s charm and character rather than detracting from it.
